AMIE MAYHALL FOR EIBEA TEACHER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Ladies and Gentlemen:

It is a pleasure to write this letter of recommendation in support of Amie Mayhall’s nomination for the EIBEA Teacher of the Year Award.  Ms. Mayhall and I have been co-workers for 13 years at Olney Central College.

Ms. Mayhall is an enthusiastic and educated individual. She possesses outstanding leadership skills and the active desire to work hard and accomplish all she can. She is a highly energetic and positive person which supports her personality of being a superior motivator.

Along with the role of Instructor, Ms. Mayhall serves as the Internship Coordinator and Lead Instructor for our Office Career programs. As Coordinator, she organizes and completes the necessary steps to successfully place interns at appropriate opportunities. To be successful at this, she not only works with the interns, but works with the many employers in many different counties and completes the necessary paperwork and contracts that go along with the placements.

As Lead Instructor, she maintains the appropriateness of our program curriculums. She works with the program instructors to ensure that the proper courses and objectives are efficiently placed in the necessary time frames to fulfill the students’ requirements and completion of the program. She is continuously evaluating programs to see if necessary changes are necessary to stay current with today’s market. She has established new programs and even completed necessary schooling and certification exams to be able to properly teach courses in new CTE programs.

Ms. Mayhall started a Phi Beta Lambda (Business Club) chapter at Olney Central College 12 years ago as well a year ago took over the advisor role of OCC’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter. Ms. Mayhall again proves her dedication and loyalty to the students and to the school through her active involvement at meetings, conferences, and fundraising events that the club holds.

Please accept this letter of recommendation for Amie Mayhall. She is an outstanding individual who started out as my co-worker and is now also my friend. It is people like her that present the feeling of family among the employees of Olney Central College and all Illinois Eastern Community Colleges. Please feel free to contact me regarding Amie Mayhall at 618‑395‑7777 Ext. 2231.

Sincerely,

Shasta Bennett
